Michele Mitch's Story
Graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA in 1991, with a BS in chemistry.
1993 - married Rick Bartkowski, brother of Crissy Bartkowski - anybody who went to Bear Creak through 5th grade should remember her. Rick and I met again at Maxwell's in the summer of 1988. Freaky world.
1991-1996 - worked at Johns Hopkins doing basic research, mostly cancer, but
some other stuff thrown in as well.
1996 - got a MS from Hopkins in Biotechnology
1996-1998 - worked at Becton Dickinson doing molecular biology research on diagnostics for TB, HIV, and other diseases
1998 - moved to Connecticut to work for Pfizer in Groton, CT; changed careers, got into clinical research as a CRA (hence the email nickname of oncocra - oncology CRA). Also started traveling, which I had never done a lot of before that.
2003 - moved to California to work for Amgen. Still in clinical research, worked on a psoriasis drug, an osteoporosis drug, and finally oncology imaging (radiology).
2006 - moved back to Baltimore area, after breaking up with Rick. Work at I...Expand for more
CON Development Solutions in Ellicott City (still in clinical research!). Also got a dog - a border colllie / Huskie / Samoyed mix named Rudy - the sweetest goober dog on the planet!
2008 - will marry David DeVincentz (7R at Stricker - anybody remember him?) on November 23rd. Get to be a step-mom to Rachel (8) and Matthew (10). Am now the Associate Director in Clinical Operations at IDS.
Mom is now in Forest Hill (right around the corner from my brother) and still works for Sunrise Senior Living. My brother, Joe, married in 1994, and currently lives with his wife, Kelly, and two kids, Brittany (11) and Joey (8), in Forest Hill. My dad lives with my step-mom in Eldersburg, where my step-brother and step-sister also live with their spouses and kids. All of my nieces and nephews are in the wedding along with Matthew and Rachel.
I always wanted to be a dancer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were not disappointed when I didn't go for it.
not for public consumption...
